2010-09-08 12:14:15The only "gay club" you can find in Havana is the pavement along the seaside called Malecone. Thats an open area, where hundreds, sometimes on a friday or saturday night maybe more than 1 000 gay, bisexual and gayfriendly (also lots of more or less straight male prostitutes) men and some female followers "party" with drinks and guitars and songs, flirts and have fun. It is very gay, and a place to make friends. Or else, there is a gay beach (official gay beach) 30 minutes taxi drive outside Havana (ask the taxi driver). And than of course the "fiestas particulares" that change every night and where you have to ask the taxi drivers to find out where the party is going on this friday or saturday. Its total fun and the best Havana has to offer on the gay entertainment side these days. Lets hope the regime opens up a bit more again in future, so people can meet in bars and discos and feel its both legal and warmly welcomed to be gay or lesbian in Cuba :-) Enjoy the stay with this friendly people!

2010-09-04 06:07:38All I have heard about this country is that the people are poor and that they will gay visitors at knife point. This has happened to friends in a taxi of all places! Sure you can get robbed in New York but who's going to help you in Cuba? Not Fidel!

2010-05-07 08:36:58Casa Luis is not a night club at all. It is a casa particular, which is essentially a bed & breakfast. There is no accommodation remotely resembling a bar or club. The only legal gay club in Cuba is El Mejunje in Santa Clara - a 4 hour bus ride away. There are numerous 'party gay' events that occur all over Havana during any week but ehy are not 'legal' and thus are in different locations each night.
